This rare gator--"Spot"--is one of the more notable residents of the Audubon Aquarium of Americas, where we're having
our reception. He is one of 18 males rescued from a Louisiana swamp in 1987 (they would have made easy targets for
predators), in what was the only known discovery of blue-eyed white alligators in recorded history.
